Medical Cannabis Might Be Regulated By The ABC

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Might Be Regulating Medical Cannabis Soon

There are still many doubts about how cannabis will be regulated in some of the states where it has already been legalized for medicinal and recreational purposes in the US, but many believe that the Alcoholic Beverage Control in California, will soon be taking over the medical cannabis industry and I think this might be a good idea, although there are many people out there who think otherwise.

Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, introduced Assembly Bill 473, which does propose that the Alcoholic Beverage Control takes over all cannabis trade and sales in the State of California and if the Committee on Public Safety, votes in favor of this bill in the next couple of weeks, this might just become a law very soon.

Medical Cannabis Needs To Be Regulated

If you think about it, allowing the Alcoholic Beverage Control to manage cannabis for medicinal purposes might be a very good idea, as they already have vast experience in regulating a substance, which was once prohibited too and they seem to be doing a good job at it.  The ABC has in fact regulated alcohol effectively in most States of the US and there are similar organizations all over the world, which could also begin treating marijuana as they do alcohol and this would surely keep things under control.

While there are many people that believe that the ABC should handle marijuana, there are also some who think that alcohol and medical cannabis should not be in charge of the same office, as there could be some problems with the booze companies, who have been opposing the legalization of marijuana all along.

There are many conflicts of interest here, as it has now been proven by several polls and studies, that states that allow medicinal and recreational cannabis, tend to consume less alcohol and much less pharmaceuticals as well.  This means that the legalization of cannabis would affect the income of some alcoholic beverage companies and this is why they do not want this bill to be accepted any time soon.

Thankfully, there is now more than 50% of American citizens who believe that cannabis should be legalized and who are constantly casting out their votes. If we want to legalize cannabis all around the world, we must all do as much as we can to promote the cause, as every little bit counts.

Medical Cannabis Is Not As Harmful As Alcohol And Other Drugs

Scientific studies are now showing that cannabis is not as harmful as it was once said and that many of the political campaigns of the 80’s and 90’s were simply oppressing this herb for personal benefits of some people and companies. It is time to abolish the prohibition of cannabis, as it is now a known fact that this does not only not work, but it even causes more problems, than it solves.
