'Altered State: Marijuana in California' Is Now Open To The Public

A Unique Cannabis Exhibition

The Oakland Museum has recently started showcasing its new exhibition titled 'Altered State: Marijuana in California', which is all about the history of this herb, works of art and other interesting documents.

Our favorite herb is very popular around the world and thanks to new ideals, we are now looking at marijuana differently as a society.  California was one of the first states in the US to legalize cannabis and this new exhibition will be about its recent history and its science.

This exhibition will be open to the public for the next few months and it is already a sensation among many cannabis enthusiasts. As said before, the exhibition will have works of art, important political papers, discussion about the plant and much more.

According to the organizers of this event, the exhibition is meant to help everyone understand more about marijuana and how it has affected our communities in the last few decades.

At the moment, 35 states in the US have legalized medicinal cannabis and four have legalized recreational marijuana, including the capital's state.

The exhibition is divided into 10 different sections and these are: science of cannabis, medical marijuana, profitable herb, sacred ganja, criminal drug, creative herb, bad herb, political tendencies, herb and youth and the recreational joint.  This project was created over two years of hard work and it has a lot of participants.

The Oakland Museum will have 'Altered State: Marijuana in California' open to the public until September 25th, so hurry up and try to visit this exhibition before it goes away...

Please remember to share and like this blog post, so that more people can read about this interesting marijuana exhibition at the Oakland Museum and to promote the legalization of this herb worldwide.

Marijuana Art Projects

Some Great Cannabis Art Ideas

Marijuana Art Ideas

A Simple Duct Tape Marijuana Plant Pen

This is a very simple project if you are a little creative and it will certainly come in handy, when wanting to write something down.  This requires a common pen and some duct tape.  You will also need some permanent green markers or something to turn that duct tape into a nice green color.  Then simply turn the duct tape into a marijuana leave or plant and stick it to your pen.  It can really look fantastic.

Marijuana Pumpkin Lantern

This project can work even when it is not Halloween, as it looks lovely and can make any room or space more interesting.  This is also a very simple project, as you will only need a pumpkins some cutting tools and a candle.  You simply hallow out a pumpkin, draw a cannabis leave or plant on your pumpkin and cut it out.  You will then place the lamp or candle inside your pumpkin and the light will make that marijuana plant look amazing.

Cannabis Cake

This is a harder type of project and it is definitely not something that most of us can do.  This cake is fantastic.  It will take some cooking experience and some creativity, but as you can see, you can come up with a great looking marijuana cake, which does not only grab the attention of everyone, but it will also taste great.  (Add some cannabutter to it and make it taste even better,if you know what I mean)

Please remember to share your marijuana art creations in the comments below and to like and share this blog post as well.

3 DIY Homemade Marijuana Grow Boxes

Build Your Own Homemade Cannabis Grow Box

If you like cannabis, you have probably dreamed about growing your own buds and smoking herb all day long.  Well today, if you have a little imagination and do a little research, you can certainly grow your own marijuana inside your home and you can even do it, without anyone knowing it.

In this blog post, we are going to tell you about three different cannabis grow boxes that you can build right in your home.  These grow boxes will allow you to harvest a few ounces of marijuana every few months and they are certainly nice looking too.  So keep on reading and find out how you can build your own homemade marijuana grow box today.

Basic Wood Frame Grow Box - This one requires some carpentry skills and some work, but it is certainly one of the best marijuana grow boxes that you can build on your own, as it is rather inexpensive, it will fit almost anywhere and it will certainly keep your cannabis plants in an environmentally controlled space.    You will need:

2 - MDF sheets. 4' x8' x 1/2"
7 - 2" x 2" x 8' pieces

MDF pieces are:

1'11" x 4'11" (x2) front panels

2' x 5' (x2) side panels

2' x 1'11" (x2) top and bottom panels

As far as the 2"x2" cuts go here they are:

2"x2"

1'8" (19") x12

5" (60") x4

All you need then are some screws, some cutting tools and some carpentry skills.  Take a look at the pictures below and see how this is built.

Toolbox Grow Box - This is a very easy project and almost anyone can do it today.  Just get an old tool box or any other kind of box and wrap it up in tin foil or Mylar.  You will then have to add some lights to the top and use some fans, if it gets too hot were you are at.  This simple marijuana grow box, can be made out of different types of materials, as mentioned above, you just need to be a little creative.  This tool box marijuana grow box, is also perfect for starting seedlings or clones.

Take a look at the pictures and see how this can be built.

PC Grow Box - This is one of the geekiest, sleekest and coolest stealth grow boxes out there.  Although you will not be able to grow some super large marijuana plants, you will certainly get some buds out of it and you will be smoking in just a few weeks.

For this project, you will need to find a computer case, which is obviously empty and can be used as a grow box.  You will then just have to add some lights, fans, tin foil and some love.  Your plants will love this little space and you can certainly adapt them to grow as many buds as possible.

So start this 2016 right and start growing your own cannabis.  But remember that marijuana is not fully legal in most places yet, so check out your local laws and see if you can start building one of these marijuana stealth grow boxes right in your home.  Breaking laws is not good, so we do not encourage you to do this, if your local laws do not allow it.  This is why we must keep fighting and working towards full marijuana legalization worldwide.

Rihanna May Get Her Own Cannabis Line

Celebs Get Involved In The Marijuana Industry

At Zip 420, we have written about Rihanna's love for cannabis before and today we want to tell you that she might be getting even more involved in the marijuana industry. Some reports state that famous singer Rihanna, might be investing in her own cannabis products and she has even announced this at the Cannabis Cup in Negril, Jamaica.

The new products, will include things like marijuana edibles and cannabis concentrates.  These will be made out from cannabis strains such as Haitian Haze, Karibbean Kush and Jamaican High Grade.

According to some people, the new business will be named MaRihanna and it will start its sales in Colorado, during the first months of 2016.  If this is true, Rihanna's new marijuana company, will be competing against companies like Snoop Dogg's, who also just got involved in the cannabis industry a few months ago.

This is even more proof that our cannabis movement is more on it's way than ever and that celebrities will help to make this one of the most important industries in the world.

Here is a short video clip, of Rihanna smoking some cannabis and dancing in a very nice bikini.  What else can we ask for?

Please remember to share and like this blog post, so that more people can read about Rihanna new cannabis enterprise and to promote the regulation of this herb worldwide.

A Marijuana Social Network App

Tell Your Friends About Cannabis

As the cannabis legalization movement continues to prosper worldwide, so is the marijuana industry and many other things related to this herb.  Today, we want to tell you about a now very famous social network app, which is all about cannabis.

Massroots is the name of this social network.  It already has more than 625,000 users and it is expected to reach at least one million users by the end of the year.  Investors are already noticing this social network and more people are joining every single day.

Massroots was thought of by Isaac Dietrich, who claims he came up with this idea, when he was smoking a joint with his best friend.  "We thought of all our friends who smoke.  Almost no one posted about it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, because that's where their families, bosses and coworkers are connected to them.  I wouldn't want my grandmother to see a picture of me taking a bong rip every time she logs into Facebook."

When Dietrich got the idea for Massroots, he decided to go "All In" and maxed out some of his credit cards, charging at least $17000 to them.  Today, Massroots is now the first marijuana related company to go public and it is now possible to get some shares on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.

According to Dietrich, "one of the core things about Massroots - why we love doing what we do - is because we have a real opportunity to push legalization forward.  We have a social network of a half-million cannabis consumers, all of which are very pro-marijuana and want to do everything possible to push the movement forward.  We are in a very unique position in which just by developing new tools, new features for our app and pushing it out to a half-million people, hopefully we can push the conversation."

Dietrich also talked about how users are now posting more within the app and how they are losing care on who sees them smoking cannabis online.  "Now people are more than willing to post pics of themselves smoking and not necessarily are who sees it.  Investors are also looking into this industry. Two years ago, they would't even considered it and that's because there's so much money about to flow into this sector.  That's what's really going to move things forward."

Please share and like this blog post, so that more people can read about the Massroots app and so we can continue promoting the legalization of cannabis worldwide.

The First Cannabis Theme Park In The World

The US Will Have The First Marijuana Theme Park Ever

According to some statements and recent news, some Native American tribes are now thinking about other businesses, rather than casinos and one of their ideas includes the world's first cannabis theme park.

The Santee Sioux tribe, which is located in South Dakota, are now considering a new enterprise and they are considering adding a marijuana smoking room to it. According to Anthony Reider, who is the Tribe's President, "We want it to be an adult playground.  There's nowhere else in the US that has something like this."

Some of their investigations, have yielded fantastic results and they believe that this new project could earn them around $2 million every single month.  The facility is already being worked on and this means taht the project is already on its way.

The tribe's members are hoping that this will generate more income, so that they do not have to depend on casinos only.

Marijuana has been legal on Santee Sioux territory since this past June and this is why some tribe leaders are already working on getting involved in the new cannabis industry.

Hopefully this new project suceeds, as we expect it to and more people start realizing that marijuana is really harmless.

Please remember to share and like this blog post, so that more people can read about the new cannabis theme park, which the Santee Sioux tribe is planning to build in the US.

Have You Watched The "Grandmas Smoking Weed" Video?

Cannabis Is Less Dangerous Than Alcohol

At Zip 420, we are all about legalizing and regulating marijuana for both medicinal and recreational purposes worldwide and today, we want to share with you a video, which was recently recorded and published by Cut, as it shows three grandmas smoking weed for the first time and how harmless this herb really is.

In the video you can see three cute old ladies, talking about how they have never tried cannabis before, as they were too busy taking care of their children, their jobs and other things in life.  Now, they decided to collaborate with Cut and show people how cannabis is no more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco and why it needs to be regulated today.

While they do have some laughs and seem a little foolish at times, they are simply having fun and not harming anyone.  Marijuana is not dangerous as we have been told and this is why we want you all to see this video too.

***We did not have anything to do with the recording of this video and we just found a link in YouTube.  We did not upload there either, but go ahead and watch it, we are sure that you will love it too.

Please remember to share and like this blog post, so that more people can watch the video of the three grandmas smoking weed and help promote the legalization of marijuana around the world.  Don't forget to sign up for our free newsletter, so we can send you more interesting news about cannabis, directly to your mail.

Should You Take A Marijuana Tour In Colorado?

Is A Marijuana Tour In Colorado Really Worth It?

As you may already know, cannabis is now legal in the US State of Colorado and there are now some marijuana tours, which anyone over 21 years old can be part of and visit many cannabis dispensaries, clubs and other places involved with this herb.  The question here is, are these cannabis tours really worth your time and money or are you better off touring these places on your own?

While it may be true that traveling through a city that you barely know is sometimes hard, mobile technology has now made this very simple and there is no reason for you to get lost.  The web makes it very simple to find some of the hottest cannabis related public places in Colorado and this is why I do not believe that a marijuana tour is something that you should spend your money on.  I myself, prefer to travel and get to know places on my own, as this allows me to take my time each place and really visit the sites that I am interested in.

If you are travelling on your own, joining a cannabis tour in Colorado, may be a good idea, as you will have other people to party and smoke with, but if you are traveling with your couple or a group of friends, going to these cannabis places on your own, is a much better idea on my point of view.

You can find the information that you need on your own or simply talk to someone from Colorado, who also enjoys cannabis and you are set to go!!

Sometimes it might be a good idea to be part of a marijuana tour in Colorado, as they will eventually have access to event tickets and other places that tourists on their own will not get very easily and this is probably the only reason why I would consider being part of one of these tours in Colorado.

Please remember to share and like this blog post, so that more people can read about whether it is a good idea to join a cannabis tour in Colorado or not.  Don't forget to sign up for our free newsletter, by leaving us your email in the box to the right.

We just met Addey a few weeks ago and we are glad that we were able to get in touch with her.  At Zip 420, we believe that young artists like her, are of big help to the cannabis reform around the world and to all our cultures as well.  Without art, humanity would certainly be very different, than the world that we know today.

Try Some Cannabis Chocolate

Eating Cannabis Chocolate Is Delicious And Fun

Just as we talked about cannabis pizza a few days ago, today we want to tell you about a new cannabis chocolate product available in medical marijuana dispensaries in South California.  Yes you read right, now you can satisfy that sugar craving of yours, while getting stoned at the same time.

What else could anyone ask for!!!

Kiva, is the name of the company that decided to start producing this marijuana chocolate bar and many believe it is a great idea.  Some people have claimed that this cannabis chocolate bar, is perfect for those marijuana patients, who know a lot about high quality food and who are looking for something sweet and tasty.

This marijuana chocolate bar, includes 15mg of THC per serving or 60mg in the entire bar. It does not matter how much you want to eat, you should be careful at first, because lots of patients are saying these bars are potent.

Thanks to new laws and people who support the legalization of cannabis, this is now a reality and soon we will see more cannabis products out there.

Fighting For Marijuana Freedom & Fairness

A News Anchor Favors The Legalization Of Marijuana

It was yesterday night, when Charlo Greene, a news anchor at KTVA, quitted her job live and said that she is doing it, to support the legalization of marijuana in Alaska.

This was certainly a surprise to many of the people watching the news last night and here at Zip 420, we congratulate Charlo, for quitting her job and doing something that she loves.

Her segment, was about the upcoming vote on legalizing cannabis in Alaska, but I am pretty sure that nobody expected her to say what she did.  While quitting on live TV, might also have a little to do with promoting her own cannabis related business, we at Zip 420, still want to congratulate her.

We think that anybody who is willing to quit a job that they are not comfortable with and is ready to do something they love, should be respected; and if they are doing it for working towards the legalization of cannabis, then at Zip 420, we support them even more!!!

Greene's exact words were, "I, the actual owner of The Alaskan Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. And as for this job, not that I have a choice, but fuck it, I quit!!"  Then she disappears from the scene.

You can watch the video clip below.  (We have no idea who uploaded this to YouTube or who the user is.  We just want to share this video with our reader)

The Most Popular Cannabis Strains Of 2014

Some Interesting Cannabis Strains

As marijuana culture keeps expanding and more countries keep decriminalizing the use of cannabis, there are also many new strains being developed around the world and some have become very popular. While some people believe that there is not much difference between marijuana strains, the fact is that there is and it can be very noticeable sometimes. It all depens how these plants are grown, how you take care of them, how you harvest your buds and how you cure them.

So here are some of the cannabis starins, which have become very popular during 2014 and if you have not tried them yet, you should try to get your hands on some of them.

Cannabis Strains That You Need To Try

Banana Kush - Indica

This marijuana strain, has genetics from the most famous OG Kush and the relatively new Banana strain.  This combination, has created a very potent strain, which can reach up to 18% to 20% THC content.  According to many cannabis smokers, this strain is one of the finest tasting strains in California right now and it can also be found in many cannabis dispensaries around the State.

Jack The Ripper - Hybrid

This is also a very potent cannabis strain and it is becoming very popular, because of its distinct smell, its texture and how it feels on your fingers, when you are rolling a fat blunt.  This hybrid marijuana strain, can also be found in many dispensaries around California and it is now making its way across the world too.

Ace of Spades - Hybrid

This hybrid cannabis strain, made our list, because it is said that many famous celebrities are choosing it and because almost everyone who tastes it, seems to like it.  Many California cannabis dispensaries are also selling this hybrid strain and it can be found in Colorado and Washington too.

Visiting Amsterdam Coffee Shops

Cannabis At Amsterdam Coffee Shops

After many years of smoking cannabis, I finally got to visit Amsterdam and this is the reason why I

had not posted anything during the last few days. I know that my trip to Amsterdam may not be

of much interest to many of you, but I want to tell you about the coffee shops that I got a chance

to visit and what I think of them.

I only spent four days in Amsterdam, but it was definitely an experience that I will never forget and

something that I had to scratch from my bucket list. I had heard and read so many stories about

the coffee shops and cannabis in Amsterdam that I just had to see them for myself.

Before I left, I did a little research and found that it is not legal for anyone to smoke cannabis on

the streets or outside coffee shops, (unless they are at their home). There were some bars, which

had their smoke rooms and allow people to have a joint or two, but the coffee shops, do not sell

any alcohol and it is usually not a good idea to ask for a beer or some wine.

I stayed at Quentin Hotel, which was okay for sleeping and I did not spend too much time there,

other than showering and sleeping. As soon as I arrived, I asked the lady at the front desk, which

coffee shop was the closest and she said gave me the directions to a Bulldog Coffee Shop, which

was only a block or two away. When I arrived there, I could smell the amazing cannabis coming

from inside and the tables that are located outside.

I went in and ordered four pre-rolled joints. The small cigarette type box had the word “Reefers”

written on it and the Amsterdam XXX symbol. I lit the first one and had not smoked more than

half, when I started feeling its effect. It was something that I had not felt in a long while. (It might

have been because I had not smoked in a few days). This coffee shop is very nice. It has some nice

decoration and I really enjoyed how the lady bartenders treated me.

I also liked a coffee shop named Betty Boop. It was very modern looking and it had some very nice

decoration, related to this cartoon character. I ordered one weed joint and one weed with has

joint and also smoked a few hits from a bong. I also enjoyed this coffee shop a lot and I am not

certain if the Bulldog or this one was my favorite one.

I also visited a couple of other coffee shops in Amsterdam. Their names are “Feels Good” and

“La Tertulia”. The first one had some amazing pre-rolled joint and at the second one I ate a weed

brownie, which was very tasty and I also smoked a joint from the four that I had bought at the

Bulldog. These two coffee shops, had some old decoration and were not very nice at all, but the

people there were very nice and I had a good time smoking there.

After tasting the cannabis in these Amsterdam coffee shops and some others, I can say that

anyone who enjoys consuming cannabis has to visit this amazing city at least once. I will definitely

try to go back one day and I am very happy that I was finally able to visit some of the coffee shops

in Amsterdam.

Hope you enjoyed my story and I will continue publishing some interesting news about marijuana

and other things related to this fabulous herb. If you want to receive more information from Zip

420, feel free to sign up to our newsletter to the right and we will make sure that you get more

information directly in your inbox.

Leftist Mexican Politics Continue To Move Towards Marijuana Legalization

Mexican Leftist Party Is Proposing A Medical Marijuana Bill

It was just a few weeks ago, that some leftist politicians in Mexico, stated that they wanted to increase the minimum marijuana possession from 5 grams, to 30 and now they are proposing a new medical marijuana bill.  This is happening, just after countries like the United States and Uruguay, are changing their laws on cannabis and proves that other countries are looking towards ending marijuana prohibition once and for all.

Mexico has been under war for several years now and leftist politicians believe that this newly proposed bill, will help to solve some of the security problems, that are affecting many States now.  They stated that this is a new approach, towards legalizing cannabis in Mexico and they believe it should be accepted soon.

This new medical marijuana bill, is only one of the many efforts, that the leftist political party in Mexico, has tried over the past few years.  Because 20 States of the US, have already legalized this herb for either medicinal or recreational purposes, leftist politicians in Mexico believe that they must follow their lead and end prohibition as well.

Another bill, to make marijuana sales in Mexico City legal, is also on its way and it is estimated to be made public in March.  If these bills are accepted in the Mexican capital, it is very likely that other States will follow too and things may change here radically, very soon.

The Story Of A Family Sustained By Marijuana

Growing Marijuana In The Forest

It has been a long time, since people have been emigrating to the US and some have really taken advantage of this opportunity.  There are many stories, of entire families joining forces and earning tons of money and there are some, which even involve growing marijuana.

According to some stories, there are some parts of the US, where the soil is perfect for growing this herb and it was a few decades ago, when an entire family, decided to move from Mexico to one of these parts of the US.  It was here, that they began working for some of the forest protection services in their town and it was this job, that gave them the opportunity to know the land, as well as they know the palm of their hands.

After knowing the land, this family began noticing, that the soil in their new home and region, was ideal for growing more than just trees and other eatables, but that it was perfect for growing marijuana too.  They also started noticing the right plots of lands for growing this herb, without being noticed and they also started remembering the forest rangers' schedule, as well as some as parts of the forest, which had the most sunlight per day.

Growing Quality Marijuana For Money

It did not take long for them to start growing some excellent herb and to sell it, in some of the towns nearby. One of the family members, had learned how to grow "sin semilla" marijuana, which involves taking out the male plants, before they can spill their pollen into the female plants and it was this kind of herb, which earned them tons of money in the towns nearby.

After a few seasons, they began investing in other businesses in their town and it was not long after, that they were seen as a respected family, not as they had been seen before.  Although, they were able to hide their marijuana plantations for a long time, as there were still not many people going into the forests and not many helicopters were available, it did not take long for some government offices, to notice their immense fortune and it was this, what finally brought them down.

When the raid took place, some of the main members of the family were supervising the harvest and they were easily arrested.  After a long trial, the judge decided to sentence them to more than twenty years in jail and their sentence was recently completed.

It is now said, that one of the main members lives in one of the US States, where marijuana is now legal and that he has received a medical approval, for purchasing cannabis legally.  He is now smoking this herb, to alleviate his back pain and this is certainly very ironic.

Marijuana is a medicine and we should not be putting people in jail for it.  Please remember to share and like this article and to subscribe to our free mailing list, by leaving us your email in the box to the right.
