Obama Says That Marijuana Is No More Dangerous Than Alcohol

President Obama Admits That Marijuana Is Not That Dangerous

It is now well known, that President Barack Obama, smoked cannabis when he was young and he has now stated, that marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol or cigarettes are. This is not only great news, but it should really help the world to realize that cannabis is in fact a safe herb to legalize.
President's Obama speech about marijuana, comes just as New York is talking about becoming one of the 20 US States, which have already legalized cannabis, which means that legalization may be around the corner for this State too.
In an interview, with one of the editors of New York Magazine, President Obama said, “As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol.”
While President Obama, also said that he does not encourage the use of cannabis, he did say that he does believe some people should not be incarcerated for its use and that he believes, that the lower levels of society are the ones that are placed in jail the most.
“Middle-class kids don't get locked up for smoking pot, and poor kids do,” Obama said. “African-American kids and Latino kids are more likely to be poor and less likely to have the resources and the support to avoid unduly harsh penalties.”
Hopefully laws related to cannabis change in the remaining States of the US soon, as this will surely help the rest of the world to legalize this herb too.  Please remember to share and like this article, so that more people can read about what President Obama thinks of marijuana and to promote the legalization of cannabis around the world.  You can also subscribe to our free mailing list, by leaving us your email to the right and we will keep you informed about other cool things related to this herb.
