Did Jesus Use Cannabis Oil For His Miracles?

Was Cannabis Oil Part Of Jesus' Life?

There are many theories and beliefs, about whom Jesus really was and how he was able to perform so many miracles.  Today, scientists have admitted to the miraculous healing powers of cannabis and now, some are thinking that Jesus, might have used some kind of cannabis oil, to perform many of his so called miracles.

The Old Testament, has a recipe for anointing oil and it talks about a plant known to our ancestors as, "kaneh-bosm" (fragrant cane, in Aramaic).  The Old Testament states, that nine pounds of this plant, were mixed with six quarts of olive oil, as well as with some myrrh, cinnamon and cassia extracts.  This oil, would then be applied to the patient's skin and it would be allowed to be absorbed by them.

Bible scholars, have stated that the "250 shekels of kanen-bosm", is actually referring to a plant known as calamus, but Chris Bennet, who is the author of a book titled "Sex, Drugs and Violence in the Bible", states that this idea is wrong and that the plant that the Old Testament is describing in that recipe, is actually cannabis. Bennet believes, that the first Old Testament translation, was wrong and that they misinterpreted the ancient words, when translating this book to Greek.

Could Jesus Have Actually Used Cannabis Oil?

In 1963, Sula Benet, who was a Polish etymologist, claimed that the word cannabis, was all over the Old Testament and that this proved, that our ancestors, actually used this herb, for medicinal purposes and entertainment as well.  Benet's exact words were, "in the original Hebrew text of the Old Testament, there are references to hemp, both as incense, which was an integral part of religious celebration and as an intoxicant."

According to Benet, the ancient word for cannabis was kaneh-bosm, also known in ancient Hebrew as kannabus or kaneh.  "Kan" actually means "reed" or "hemp" and "bosm", means "aromatic", which is why it is now believed, that cannabis might have been an important part, of our ancestors' lives.

The word "kaneh-bosm", appears five times in the Old Testament and it can be found in the books of Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Song of Songs and Exodus.  This word, was mistakenly translated as calamus, by old Greek translators and this is why, nobody has ever thought about Jesus performing some of his miracles, with the help of cannabis oil.

If this theory is right,  many of the miracles that Jesus performed, might have a very simple explanation today, as we now know that cannabis is excellent for treating multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, neurodegenerative conditions and skin diseases; all of which, might have seem as demons or demonic possessions, a little over 2000 years ago.

Even if the levels of THC in ancient cannabis, were not as high as they are today, Jesus could have very well cooked a cannabis oil, potent enough to help some sick people and thus, performing tons of miracles.

If you read Exodus 30:31, you will find these words, "This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations.  It shall not be poured on anyone's body, nor shall you make any like it in the same proportions; it is holy, and it shall be holy to you.  Whoever shall mix any like it or whoever puts any of it on a layman shall be cut off from his people."

In Mark 6:13, you will find these words, "They cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them."  According to Carl P. Ruck, who is a professor of classical mythology at Boston University, "There can be little doubt about a role for cannabis in Judaic religion.  There is no way that a plant so important as a fiber source for textiles and nutritive oils and one so easy to grow, would have gone unnoticed...the mere harvesting of it would have induced an entheogenic reaction."

So whether you believe in Jesus and his miracles, or not, there are certainly many people who believe that cannabis oil was a very important part of this and new proof, is being released every day.  Please remember to share and like this article, so that more people can read about the possibility of Jesus having used cannabis oil to perform some of his miracles.  You can also subscribe to our free mailing list, by leaving your email in the box to the right, so we can send you more interesting information right to your inbox.
