Marijuana Is Legal In Uruguay
We have told you about Uruguay's intentions in this blog in the past and their plans, have finally become a reality. Today, marijuana is now legal in Uruguay and this will really help other countries to make a decision about ending cannabis prohibition in their territory.
It was yesterday, when Uruguay, became the first country in the world, to fully legalize the cannabis industry, within their boundaries. Uruguay's Senate, finally voted in favor of the new government-backed bill to legalize this herb and now, the citizens of this country, will be able to purchase weed legally very soon.
The government of Uruguay, will now be in charge of regulating the cultivation, the distribution and consumption of this herb, which is meant to take away this industry, from the criminal markets in this country.
The marijuana law in Uruguay, will begin on April 2014, which is a good month to start, as it includes the very famous 4/20 date. The new law, will not allow people under 18, to purchase marijuana from the government and it will also limit its citizens to purchase 1.4 ounces of weed per month.
A drug control board, will also be created in Uruguay, so they can establish the prices and standards for selling this herb. While these limits and regulations may not be what all of us expected, it certainly is a huge step towards legalization and we can only cheer for Uruguayans' decision to fully legalize marijuana in their country.
It is time for other countries to start doing the same and at Zip 420, we will continue to promote marijuana's benefits, until it is legal all over the world. Please remember to share and like this blog post, so that more people can read about Uruguay's decision to make marijuana legal and to help promote this around the globe.
