Nevada Will Have A Medical Marijuana Industry

Medical Marijuana Is Being Legalized In Nevada

Thanks to Governor Brian Sandoval, who signed Senate Bill 374 and allowed the establishment of some cannabis related businesses, Nevada will now have its own medical marijuana industry and it will surely change this State for good.

Senate Bill 374, gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to establish their own cannabis dispensaries, to grow their own herb and even to create other cannabis related products or edibles. This new Bill, will also give scientists the opportunity to study the benefits of marijuana even further and these are all great benefits from the bill that Governor Sandoval signed.

Being Serious About Medical Marijuana

The new medical marijuana laws in the State of Nevada, will be taken very seriously and they are certainly well planned. According to the Nevada Business website:
"To encourage serious business-minded individuals and entities to apply for certificates to operate the MMEs, SB 374 requires thorough background checks and a sizable investments in the business venture. Each application, which will be available through the Nevada Division of Health, must be accompanied by a one-time non-refundable fee of $5,000. For those who secure certificates to operate the MMEs, the initial fees range from $30,000 for a dispensary to $3,000 for a production facility for marijuana-infused and edible products. Annual renewal fees range from $1,000 to $5,000.
Successful applicants will demonstrate control of at least $250,000 in liquid assets to cover initial operating and compliance-related expenses. Keep in mind that under federal law, marijuana is a Schedule I drug and possessing it is a felony. Therefore, traditional forms of business financing are largely unavailable. "
This is certainly a good idea and it will help to keep the medical marijuana industry in Nevada under control. Having these sorts of regulations, will also help to prove that these types of businesses can benefit society and that they are more helpful, than if kept illegal.

It is time for everyone to accept that cannabis is a medicine and that it is not wrong to smoke a joint every now and then.
